I know you're wondering what a peanup is and it's quite simple. It's a peanut pull up. The chonkers who won't take food from the humans will often try their paw at peanups instead. In the following video you can watch one such attempt. Go Chonk, go!

MEET THE SQUIRRELS: Hole Squirrel
Hole Squirrel is a scaredy squirrel but we love him anyways. He craves the peanuts that he sees the humans doling out fervently to Sqwer, but just doesn't have the same courage that she does to take it from them. However, he has his own strengths: adaptability and innovation.
Hole Squirrel-- you might be able to guess where this is going-- figured out his own method to acquire peanuts while minimizing danger. The Peanut Tree has a few hollow branches, one of which happens to have a window and is right next to the Sqwer feeding spot. The next time the humans came out to meet with Sqwer, Hole Squirrel ventured down. He shrinked away from their initial peanut offering and instead ducked into the hole. He waited a beat before checking out the window.
It worked.
The human brought a peanut straight to the hole!
With this newfound strategy, Hole Squirrel is now a regular visitor from the safety and comfort of his hole while the humans, none the wiser, have happily started a hole delivery service with one customer and no tips. All according to plan!

MEET THE SQUIRRELS: Sqwer
Meet sqwer. She's everyone's favorite squirrel. If you met her she'd be your favorite too. She's got razor sharp claws but also the carefulness to not scratch you with them. She'll take a peanut from your hand in the most gentle, AWW-inducing way and might even put her little paw on your finger for balance. Oftentimes she will generously let you give her a few pets and scratches. It's the little things that make her so sweet.
Sqwer was the first squirrel we made contact with so she is clearly the bravest and has commendable intersquirrpersonal skills. You can also tell just from looking into her eyes. See for yourself!
